Quilt Market 2009

Quilt Market Pittsburgh, 2009
Wow! I am still recovering from Quilt Market in Pittsburgh.
It's always a lot of fun, and a lot of work, but worth every minute!
I can't tell you how many times we drove over this mustard yellow bridge going back and forth from Ikea, Target, Pannera, and to the airport. Thing is, there are several that look just like it, why not paint each one a different color, then one might know if you were on the wrong bridge or not...... just a suggestion ;).
I'm curious, who picked this color anyhow?

I am sad to admit, that I didn't take may of my own pictures this time. So, thanks to all of you bloggers who are posting your own, I will be borrowing some of my favorites here to share with all my peep's (giving proper credit naturally! :) I'll be posting pictures as I collect them this next week. I hope you enjoy!

Here is my sister Lila's Booth in Santorini for Moda! It took 1st place for new exhibitors! She totally deserved it! After loosing her voice completely on the plane ride to Pittsburgh, she managed to pull off market with style! Stella (the lovely and talented mannequin) we feel, was a big hit! Lila made her from scratch! That was a lot of work, but it showed off her talent to be unique and think out of the box ;)

Lila and Marinda

This is Patty Young who designs for Michael Miller and my niece Chelsea of Pink Fig Patterns. Two creative ladies! I adore them both!

Patty's new fabric line is called Mezzanine

Patty and her husband Jon who built this booth,

(nice work Jon!).

I shall have more to come... but it's 2am and I need to get to sleep!

Have a great Memorial Day weekend!

SaNToRiNi!

!Santorini is here!

My sister Lila just got her new line of fabric samples
and she shared!
(don't you LOVE people who share?)

Santorini won't be out in stores until Fall 2009,

but here is your sneak peak!

hmmm....what shall I make?

I have some time before market in Pittsburgh this May to sew up something cute to wear ... or maybe a bag?

This is the hardest part for me, deciding what I want to make once I get the fabric. I don't really want to cut it all up. I just kind of like to look at the fabric stacked up, color coordinated like it is.... (it's a sickness, really)ha.

I'll show you once I figure it out myself.

SoIrE'e In A dAy!

I've been itching to sew!

Mark is out of town until Friday and I just love to tackle some major projects when he does that! I'm not really sure why? Maybe it's the freedom to leave the house a bomb so I can get some things done, that I want done! Maybe it's the fact that I don't have to answer to anyone, there are no other adults to consult with about eating cereal for dinner. The boys don't seem to mind at all! Sometimes, I paint a new room or refinish some cabinets, but this time
I just want to sew!
So my sister Lila has her Soire'e line out in stores this week!
She sent me some for my birthday!

I've been wanting to sew up a little swimsuit cover-up for quite some time and found this darling pattern from Favorite Things at Portland quilt market last spring. I just loved this nighty night pattern, but I thought it would be perfect as a cover-up.

It's amazing what one can acomplish in just a few hours of peace and quite (in the middle of the night)...... and here it is!!!

Isn't that bud print just darling?

.... and here's the back

Now I just need a few more weeks (or months) to get my bod in shape to wear the darn thing! I wish there was a workout and diet plan that worked in just a couple of hours during the middle of the night.....

ho hum!
